Software as a Service

When packaged software does not sell anymore for having bought too much of it, vendors must find alternative ways of addressing the needs of customers suffering from indigestion. Software as a Service and network appliances are such alternative distribution mechanisms and have proven quite successful for CRM and web hosting respectively.

Whithin this category, we will try to understand how pervasive Software as a Service can become as a computing model. We will investigate the unique technical challenges that have to be solved and feature innovative online services while referencing the colateral topic of the Office 2.0.
