Google Page Creator
Saturday, March 4th 2006 | Ismael Ghalimi
I finally managed to get access to Google Page Creator, Google’s new web page development service. I developed this page as a proof of concept. To be honest, I am not very impressed. The service works, is easy to use, sports a minimalist user interface that is very much in line with Google’s tradition, but beyond an extensive set of uninspiring pre-built looks, it fails to add anything new to the category. Unless Google adds the ability to use one’s own domain name, I do not see any benefit in using this tool versus Office 2.0 alternatives to a word processor, such as Writely or Zoho Writer. Did I miss anything?
