Two is Better than One

Everytime a traditional office application is re-implemented as an online service, the concept for Office 2.0 gets further validation. Yet in many instances, sceptics will dismiss it as an oddity that is not worth paying attention to, until a second implementation of the same service is provided. Much like it takes two to tango, the very fact that two service providers compete for the same users is enough to create a market. As of late, a couple of new entrants have helped define such markets: Pixoh follows PXN8 as an Office 2.0 alternative to Adobe Photoshop, Calcoolate follows Google Calculator as an Office 2.0 calculator, and Dabble DB is about to follow Zoho Creator as an alternative to Microsoft Access. With these new releases, my Office 2.0 setup has only 2 categories out of 20 that show only one entrant. Not bad…
