200 Office 2.0 Applications

Sunday, July 9th 2006 | Ismael Ghalimi

The Office 2.0 Database, created less than four months ago, now features over 200 applications. 201 to be precise. These applications are organized within 44 categories, which lay the foundations for my Office 2.0 setup.

For the past couple of months, the RSS Feed for the database, which is served by Dabble DB, has been acting erratically. It looks like the good folks at Smallthought Systems have recently fixed this issue though. Bad news: this should explain why some of you have seen your RSS inbox flooded with past entries. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. Good news: I believe the problem has been fixed now, and you should receive real-time notifications when any new application is added to the database.

Moving forward, I will build a little application that will let users register their own Office 2.0 setups, publish it on their websites, and get access to some value-added services that I am still trying to figure out. If you want a preview of what the registration form will look like, take a look at this page.

IT Redux: Office 2.0 Database…

Speaking of IT|Redux and my friend Ismael Ghalimi, he’s done an outstanding job maintaining an ongoing database of Office 2.0 (or Enterprise 2.0 as I like to call it) applications. If you’re looking for a specific web-based office…

Excellent stuff Ismael…

Congratulations on the mention in the soon-to-be-infamous “Benioff Memo.”

[…] I could have added Wordpress the platform and NOT the dot com version. I could also have added Feed43 for all those dumb ass people that don’t get this stuff. How Jon arrives at Blogger is beyond me but there’s no accounting for taste. Including YouTube suggests he must have WAY too much time on his hands. Like Tebbo, I could have added NetVibes, but I’m gravitating towards some sort of Office 2.0 thing. […]
