If you write in bursts but want to schedule their publication, you can alter the publishing timing inside WordPress. That's what I do when I know I will have a heavy work day but still need to get stuff out.

Regular posting, like a high fiber diet keeps your blog healthy -- so I'm told.

Zoli,

The goal is mainly to preserve this one-post-a-day discipline. I agree that backdating comes at a cost, but I could not think of any better way of doing it. I guess I will need to develop a more regular posting pattern...

Ismael,

I never figured the rationale behind backdating (yes, I read your post on it). If you aim to have one post a day on average, I think it's perfectly OK to publish them in bursts, whenever they come.

I am always struggling with my feed reader re-displaying old items, so if I see an "old" (backdated) post, I may skip it, not knowing it's actually new. Well, I will not do it with yours now, but I think generally it's a better practice not to backdate stuff. I also wonder if it may hurt you on aggregators, indices, etc.
