Office 2.0 Conference Dates and Location
Wednesday, July 26th 2006 | Ismael Ghalimi
The dates and location have been set for the first Office 2.0 Conference: it will take place on October 12-13, 2006 in San Francisco, CA, immediately following Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce user & developer conference.
More details on the conference are available here. We are still discussing with a couple of hotels for the venue, and we expect to get things done by August 15. The conference will take place over two days, with plenary sessions in the morning, and workgroups in the afternoon.
Breakfast, lunch and afternoon coffee break will be offered on both days, while a cocktail and dinner will be organized in the evening of the first day. The registration page will be released by August 1st. The registration fee will be $395 for registrations received before September 1st, $495 afterward.
The list of speakers is currently being defined. If you would like to apply for a speaking engagement, please drop me a line. Also, we’ve put together multiple packages for sponsorship that should fit even the tightest budgets. If you would like to be one of the sponsors for what could very well become an industry-defining event, send me a note.
We are expecting anywhere from 100 to 200 participants, and 10 to 20 participating companies. At present time, we have confirmed participants coming from North America, Europe, and Japan. If you live in other parts of the world, please make sure to consider the opportunity of joining us, for we would really like your local perspective to be represented during the event.
I look forward to a very fun time with you all.

Ismael,
Count me in. Should I send you an email to discuss the finer points? -Jason

Ismael,
My guess is you’ll see more participants than 200 :-) -Raju
Raju,
Under-promise, over-deliver.
[…] As promised last week, we are ready to receive early registrations for the first Office 2.0 Conference, which will take place in San Francisco on October 12-13. Our PayPal Business Account has been activated and we have setup a temporary website for registration. […]
[…] With the addition of Ross Mayfield, Jeff Nolan, Tom Snyder, and David Young, the list of speakers for the upcoming Office 2.0 Conference is becoming a who’s who of the ever growing Office 2.0 community. This gave me the opportunity of giving Zoho Creator another try, and getting a feel for the progress that has been made since its first public launch back in March. […]
[…] Thanks to the help of Julia and Nial, we have secured some additional sponsors for the Office 2.0 Conference — Apple Computer, Lewis PR, Lohika — and several more are in the pipe. […]

I received a mail out of the blue the other day…
[…] Over time, more and more people started playing with the same tools, writing about it in a similar fashion, and our chap suggested the idea of getting together. As a group, they could share their ideas and tricks, and maybe get more folks to share the fun with. As Jack Johnson said, “it’s always more fun to share with everyone”. So one day, our chap got serious about it, and set a date and a place for the gathering. He had no idea how many of his friends would show up, nor where they would meet, but it did not really matter. All they wanted was to have fun together. […]
