Office 2.0 Conference Registration
Tuesday, August 1st 2006 | Ismael Ghalimi
As promised last week, we are ready to receive early registrations for the first Office 2.0 Conference, which will take place in San Francisco on October 12-13. Our PayPal Business Account has been activated and we have setup a temporary website for registration.
The participant fee is $395 for registrations received before September 1st, $495 afterward. Information regarding discounts for hotel rooms will be provided as soon as we sign with the selected venue. We’re down to two options at this point, and expect everything to be signed by August 15.
Also, we still have a couple of spots available for qualified speakers and for workshop coordinators. If you feel like exercising your talents as a speaker, feel free to drop me a line.

Ismael,
Just a side note.
Today, Saturday August 5, at around 1:00 PM PST, I tried to log into my Salesforce.com account, and for over 1 hour, I kept getting the following error message:
“The salesforce.com servers are temporarily unable to respond to your request. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience, and please try again in a few moments.”
I have a free account, so I guess I can’t be too vocal about it, but it did keep me out of critical contact data I needed, and if I was a paying Enterprise customer, I would have been very upset. Not that I was very happy!
Is this something you experienced at all? I know Zoho CRM is available, and while not having the sophistication of Salesforce.com, I know their servers have a very good uptime.
Penny for your thoughts!
-Ryan
Ryan,
As far as I can tell, it was a scheduled maintenance.
Zoho CRM is nice, but as you said, not a replacement for Salesforce.com.
Thanks Ismael. I feel better now!
