Office 2.0 News

Since Yahoo! released Pipes, I have been looking for a good application I could build with this cool development tool. After a couple hours playing with it, I realized that it was nothing more than a synchronous feed processing tool, but a very easy to use one, so I decided to build a feed aggregator with it. I took feeds from the blogs of as many Office 2.0 applications as I could, and built an Office 2.0 News page with matching feed. Essentially, Office 2.0 News serves all the information you need to keep up to date with everything Office 2.0 related. [Continue…]

A couple of weeks ago, I described how to use Zoho Sheet alongside Dabble DB in order to generate charts that can be dynamically embedded into any web page. Well, it turns out that I was not the only one interested by such a capability, and the good folks at Dabble DB just released support for charts and maps. [Continue…]

What Makes Synchronization Difficult

Earlier today, I had dinner with my friend Francis Pisani, French compatriot and prolific blogger for famous newspapers such as Le Monde, El PaĆs, and Reforma. We discussed about a variety of subjects, including a couple that are dear to my heart: good food and Office 2.0. On the gastronomic side, we pretty much agreed on everything. Where BPM and BI Intersect

The BPM acronym means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. If you’re into techno music, it’s all about beats per minute. If you’re a fan of Business Intelligence (BI), you know all about Business Performance Management. And if you’re a regular reader of this blog, you must have a strong interest for Business Process Management. Today, we will focus on the later topic, and try to outline where it intersects with BI. The Quest for the Perfect Online Image Editor

Over the past few months, a flury of online image editing tools have been released, including Phixr, Picnik, Pixer, and Snipshot. They all make it easy to remove red eyes on a picture, or apply a sepia filter to it, but they fall short when being used for web development. [Continue…]
