Have you tried the combination of Thunderbird with Gmail on your Mac? I teach my Senior students at North York Seniors Centre to use Outlook Express with Gmail and keep a copy of each incoming and outgoing e-mail in his/her own Windows XP machine. No spam mails would ever get into their machines as long as they set up the filters for spam mails correctly on both the Gmail &#38; client sides. One distinctive advantage of using a client e-mail software with Gmail is that one can embed graphics within the body of an e-mail, not as attachments! Another advantage is that when they have no access to the Internet for some reason, which happens often at the Centre, they can still compose their e-mails.
