I’m spending so much time in Europe that I’m considering getting a local provider as well. Roaming is very expensive. We’re reaching a point where I might have a provider in three or four locations around the globe in around to reduce costs. Kinda silly, but I don’t see any way around it at this point…

Good to hear you still have a need for speed! I have a similar setup (Vodafone Broadband; perhaps the same device by Huawei), vital when on a site where you have no connectivity provided. I even find it difficult to use all my monthly quota!

The down side is if you’re in an area that does not support the 7.2 Mbps, and you are reduced to 57 Kbps! The bandwidth demands of current web applications make 9 year old data rates almost unusable.

The up side? The cost has recently halved here in the UK.
