Monolab|Workspace Vancouver
Sunday, July 27th 2008 | Ismael Ghalimi
Our Palo Alto building’s final inspection has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, after which we will be in a position to formally accept memberships. In the meantime, we received a request for 20 workstations in Vancouver, BC, and are considering moving this location up from Phase II to Phase I (details here).
From a neighborhood standpoint, we’re currently focusing on Gastown, and Yaletown, with a slight preference for the later. Also, some of our local contacts pointed us to WorkSpace, which looks really nice. Our concept is a bit different though, with dedicated desks only, larger workstations, higher-end equipment, private areas for larger teams, and access to multiple locations around the world.
May and I love Vancouver, and have some relatives living up there. In order to visit some properties, we’ve scheduled a short trip for next week-end, August 2nd and 3rd. If you live or work there and are interested to learn more about our projects, please feel free to drop us a line. If we get interest from enough people, we might even organize a meetup on Saturday afternoon.
In the meantime, here is a slideshow presenting the Monolab|Workspace Palo Alto.

Wow, this looks pretty cool. All the best of luck with this project.
Just a few notes/suggestions/questions:
1. Will the walls be covered with something by you? Or is it up to the clients?
2. What about some plants?
3. I would place a screen around the massage chair, for some extra privacy.
4. It’s not the typical cubicle approach. Do you think a completely open working environment is better? Even though we are talking about very few people per company I guess.
Doron,
Thanks for the kind words.
1. No, we will leave them bare.
2. We have a huge tree outside. Plants require too much maintenance.
3. Great idea, we will definitely work on that.
4. We like open spaces.

Ismael,
Glad you liked my idea.
As for plants, i do think a bit of color, especially green, can sure help improve the work environment. Maybe a few artificial plants will do the trick. Their only maintenance requirement is a dust off every few weeks.
Keep the news pouring, and I hope they are all good.
-Doron
