New Speakers
Wednesday, August 9th 2006 | Ismael Ghalimi
With the addition of Ross Mayfield, Jeff Nolan, Tom Snyder, and David Young, the list of speakers for the upcoming Office 2.0 Conference is becoming a who’s who of the ever growing Office 2.0 community. This gave me the opportunity of giving Zoho Creator another try, and getting a feel for the progress that has been made since its first public launch back in March.
The following list was built with this fantastic tool:
From a user interface standpoint, the good Zoho folks have done a really good job in trying to simplify things. Today, Zoho Creator is pretty much on par with Dabble DB, which is my benchmark for evaluating any Office 2.0 alternative to the good old Microsoft Access.
Data syndication has also been improved, with the addition of CSV, TSV, JSON, and RSS feeds. I am quite pleased to see support for TSV (Tab Separated Values), for it’s the only format supported by the Mac OS X Address Book.
I have a lot more to explore there, especially the ability to embed forms within a website and the support for scripting, which is something than no other development tool supports today. Several elements of the Office 2.0 Conference will be managed with Zoho Creator, so I should have plenty of opportunities to dig into these.
And if you’d like to speak at the conference, drop me a line!
