Upcoming Office 2.0 Events
Wednesday, January 10th 2007 | Ismael Ghalimi
We’re still in the first half of January, but the calendar for Office 2.0 events is filling up rapidly. Of course, we will have the second edition of the one and only Office 2.0 Conference sometime in October or November in San Francisco, CA. But in the meantime, here are a couple of events you might want to consider joining, either as an attendee or as a sponsor.
First, I joined the selection committee for the upcoming Under the Radar event on Why Office 2.0 Matters, to take place on March 23 at the Microsoft campus in Mountain View, CA. If you want to nominate your company, just send me a note.
Second, I have been invited to host a workshop called Going 2.0 at the very first Web 2.0 Expo, which will take place on April 15-18 in San Francisco, CA. The workshop will demonstrate how to run a business entirely with Office 2.0 tools. I will demonstrate parts of My Office 2.0 Setup, and hopefully be joined on stage by the developers of some of the applications I am using.
Third, we have been approached by the Sand Hill Group to run an Office 2.0 pavillion and an Office 2.0 track during the upcoming Software 2007 conference, which will take place on May 8-9 in Santa Clara, CA. We expect to have space available for exhibitors, and slots for speakers, so feel free to drop me a line if you’re interested.
Fourth, similar discussions have been held with CMP, which organizes the upcoming Enterprise 2.0 Conference, to take place on June 18-21 in Boston, MA. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I would love to hear from you if you’re living on the East Coast and are working for a cool Office 2.0 company out there.
Fifth, CNET Japan expressed interest in organizing an Office 2.0 conference in Japan sometime in Spring. Japan is a country very dear to my heart, where I would love to retire at some point. In the meantime, I go there to socialize with monkeys whenever I get a chance, and I am looking for Japanese companies that have something interesting to demonstrate in relation to Office 2.0.
And if you know of any other event I should consider, send me an email.

Hi Ismael,
Another conference that I didn’t notice on your list is SaaSCon. Although not exactly Office 2.0, it is about SOA and SaaS, which couldn’t be more aligned with Office 2.0 development.
Regards,
Abe Sultan
Abe,
SaaSCon is a good one indeed.
Best regards
