Office 2.0 Japan

Wednesday, April 11th 2007 | Ismael Ghalimi

Many readers of this blog are from Japan, and several of them have recently expressed interest for an Office 2.0 meeting to be organized there. After some preliminary investigations, we have decided to organize such an event, albeit at a small scale, to take place in Tokyo on June 26th.

The first Office 2.0 Japan will present Office 2.0 applications that have been localized for the Japanese market. It will also introduce localization partners to Office 2.0 companies that are currently considering such an opportunity. The event will also showcase the Office 2.0 setup that I will demonstrate at the Web 2.0 Expo this Sunday.

Because of the limited time and resources we have to put this thing together, speaking opportunities will be very limited, but feel free to send me ideas over email. Also, we will have room for sponsors, but the demo pods will use Apple MacBook Pro 17″ laptops instead of our regular iMac setups, mainly as a way to reduce shipping costs. If you would like your company to be represented there, please drop me a line.

Last but not least, we’re making this event coincide with the first Intalio training to take place in Japan, on June 27th and 28th. So, if you’re looking for a way to connect your Office 2.0 services to on-premise applications such as Oracle or SAP, make sure to register before we sold out.
