Extreme Productivity Seminar
Between Intalio, the Office 2.0 Conference, my flight training as a commercial pilot, and my duties as father of a baby girl, I tend to be fairly busy, and many people I meet wonder how I manage to fit all this into regular 24 hour days. In theory, the answer is pretty simple: apply David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology religiously, and use the best tools money can buy. In practice though, it takes a lot of personal discipline, and building a working system took many trials and errors. Today, this home-grown Extreme Productivity System is working pretty well, and I have decided to share it with anyone interested.
The Extreme Productivity System is a combination of processes and tools. It is still under development, but many of its components have been implemented using Salesforce.com, and used effectively for the past three years. As of today, I use it to manage over 200 independent projects, with more than 500 tasks related to them. In other words, it scales pretty well. One of my projects this year is to package it into a Salesforce.com application that could be downloaded from the AppExchange. In the meantime, I will refine it and share it through public seminars.
These intense one-day events are held on a monthly basis. Each participant is given access to an evaluation version of Salesforce.com that is extended with custom objects such as Project or Travel and AppExchange applications such as EchoSign or VerticalResponse. Prior knowledge of Salesforce.com is not required, but the commitment to use it as a personal productivity tool really is. Familiarity with the Getting Things Done methodology is strongly recommended as well, even though the Extreme Productivity System should not be considered as a faithful implementation of David Allen’s exceptional work.
Through this seminar, participants learn:
- The Extreme Productivity Process
- How to implement it with Office 2.0 tools
- How to use Salesforce.com as an effective Personal Information Manager
- How to extend Salesforce.com with custom objects and applications
- How to access Salesforce.com from any mobile device (including the Apple iPhone)
- How to manage multiple business activities
- How to manage many concurrent projects
- How to manage a very large number of social relationships
- How to optimize heavy travel schedules
The regular seminar is priced at $995. All profits will go to fund my training as a commercial pilot, and participants are entitled to a free plane ride to be scheduled anytime this year. If this sounds like fun, please drop me a line.

“Having a good tracking system for opportunities, portfolio companies, and managing time in general is critical for running a venture firm well. I looked at and experimented with just about everything. Ismael’s approach to Extreme Productivity is the only system I’ve seen that combines the ease of use and power that I was looking for. Highly recommended and very thought-provoking.”
— Mike Maples
“Ismael is an inspiration. The fact that he is able to accomplish an enormous number of activities without stress is a testament to his discipline and organization. If you are already familiar with the principles of GTD, and want to learn how you can take your practice of it to the next level, I urge you to take a serious look at his Extreme Productivity Seminar.”

“Ismael takes a daunting number of tasks and projects, and processes each with impressive efficiency. His seminar presents his productivity management techniques in a way that is accessible to everyone, and easy to implement using common tools. I believe in the core techniques so much that I have given Ismael’s presentation twice with our organization. Highly recommended seminar.”
