Intalio is incorporated in the U.S. Intalio launches the ExoLab Open Source project, which gave birth to projects such as OpenEJB (later used as a foundation for Apache Geronimo), OpenJMS, OpenORB, OpenXML (eventually merged with IBM's XML4J to become Apache Xerces), Castor, Slide and Tyrex. Intalio publishes seminal whitepaper that introduced the concept of a Business Process Management System (BPMS) and contributed to start the BPM movement. Intalio creates the Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org), invites 15 other founding members and starts working on the BPML specification. Intalio releases first BPMS. BPMI.org releases BPML 1.0. BPMI.org releases BPMN 1.0. Intalio acquires FiveSight, announces support for BPEL 2.0 and unveils renewed Open Source strategy and first community partners. Intalio pioneers the BPM 2.0 concept and releases Intalio|BPMS 4.0, the first Open Source BPM Suite to fully support BPMN, BPEL and BPEL4People.
